Someone at janeaustenfans recommended a book called Pride and Prescience, "a Mr. and Mrs. Darcy mystery", which supposedly casts the newly-married Darcy and Elizabeth as a sort of Regency-era Nick and Nora Charles. I generally avoid P&P sequels but that description (plus the fact that it was on the shelf at my town library) was enough to convince me to pick it ( Read more... )

Today is Guy Fawkes day, the only holiday I have ever heard of which, instead of celebrating the person it's named after, celebrates his failure and public hanging by annually burning him in effigy. Since I had to work Saturday, I didn't start the book till later than most people. I finished last night around 10 (could have been earlier but I thought, what am I going to do with myself until bedtime if it's done? So I kept the final chapter to read before bed).

The more I read about OOTP the more in love with it I am. I'm also finding it a fun activity to read fan reviews and note what scenes are mentioned in the inevitable sentence "I liked the movie a lot, but would have been happier if they'd included X and Y..."
